Rakuten Referral Code FAQs
Does Rakuten Canada have a referral code?
Rakuten Canada doesn't use a manual code. Sign up through the referral link on this page so the $30 welcome bonus is tracked to your new account.
How much do I need to spend to get the Rakuten bonus?
You need to make qualifying purchases totaling at least $30 that earn Cash Back, completed within 90 days of signing up.
How long do I have to qualify for the Rakuten bonus?
You have 90 days from the day you sign up to complete the $30 or more in qualifying purchases.
Do all my purchases count toward the $30?
Only purchases that actually earn Cash Back count. Buying directly from a retailer without first activating Rakuten, excluded item categories, incompatible coupons, and cancelled or returned orders won't count toward the total.
Do I get a smaller bonus if I sign up without a referral link?
Yes, typically. Rakuten's standard sign-up bonus without a referral is usually smaller than the $30 referral welcome bonus, so joining through a referral link is worth doing.
When does Rakuten pay out the bonus and cash back?
Rakuten pays accumulated cash back and bonuses on a quarterly basis, according to its scheduled payment dates, via cheque or PayPal.
Does the Rakuten browser extension track my purchases automatically?
Yes. Once installed, the Rakuten browser extension detects when you're shopping at a partner retailer and applies cash back tracking automatically, without needing to click through the Rakuten site each time.
Is there a limit to how much cash back I can earn?
There's no cap on ongoing cash back earnings. The $30 welcome bonus itself is a one-time reward for new members who complete the qualifying spend.
